Summertime at The Place

Fire your child’s imagination and spark their creativity this summer with dance activities by The Place.

Dancing is a great way to get active and it also allows children to think creatively, engaging their mind as well as their body. This summer, The Place, London's world-leading centre for contemporary dance, will be running a series of intensive, week-long classes where young people aged 7 – 18 can learn new moves from professional performers.

Ella Mesma, who will lead the class for 7 – 10 year olds, is a dance and circus artist with diverse training in aerial arts. Solène Weinachter leads the class for older children aged 15 – 18 and will focus on exploring imagination and storytelling through dance. The class for 11 – 14 year olds will be led by multi- award-winning hip hop dance theatre company, Boy Blue.

If you’d like to get involved too, The Place will also be holding a free day of dance activities in Coram’s Fields. Family Dance Day will be packed full of fantastic theatre shows, interactive storytelling, arts and crafts and dance classes for all to enjoy.
