A Global Choral Project for Peace Calling on Primary Schools Across the UK and Ireland

A global choral initiative launching on Peace Day 2014 and developing through the centenary commemoration years of the first world war, One Day One Choir is a choral project which aims to unite people in communities all around the world by singing together on Peace Day (or during the week leading up to it) with a focus on peace, at all levels.

The project is totally inclusive and can be done anywhere by anyone regardless of age, ability, location, beliefs or social status.  From schools and concert halls to community centres, public spaces, religious buildings, theatres, offices, airports, hotels or even at home, groups can come together to sing for as little or as long as they like.

This year the focus is on create or dedicate.  If you want to create something for the day or during the week leading up to Peace Day, that’s great.  If you are already singing or performing, be that in church, a school assembly or a concert platform, please just dedicate your performance to peace - peace at home, in our communities and around the globe.  What you sing is up to you, as long as it is appropriate for the event, and get people talking about peace too and how we all might be able to contribute to that in some way.

'This is a very exciting idea ...... which will play an important part in achieving a commemoration fit for the memory of those who gave their lives and provide a legacy of greater understanding for the generations to come." - David Cameron PM

The project aims to bring more and more people on board so that by 2018 we have the largest choral event in the world - singing for peace.
