CELEBRATING LIVES IN A VIRTUAL WORLD
www.lastingtribute.co.uk, the leading UK website of its kind, has teamed up with two national charities to create a virtual daffodil field and an online night sky so that loved ones can be remembered in an innovative way.
Working in partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care and When You Wish Upon A Star, Lasting Tribute has created a virtual daffodil Field of Hope and a virtual Night Sky.
This year marks the 18th anniversary of the launch of When You Wish Upon A Star, a charity which grants the wishes of children suffering from life–threatening or terminal illness. Lasting Tribute is inviting people to dedicate a star in its virtual Night Sky to a baby or child who has died, with £2.50 of the £5 cost going to the charity.
Karen Martt, from When You Wish Upon A Star, commented: “The virtual Night Sky is a wonderful idea and we are grateful that the Lasting Tribute team is helping us to achieve our aims. I would like to thank everyone who supports the Lasting Tribute website, so we can continue to grant the ‘Wishes’ of these very special children.”
This year, Marie Curie Cancer Care is celebrating its 60th anniversary and to mark the occasion, visitors to Lasting Tribute can pay £5 to dedicate a virtual daffodil to a loved one’s memory in an online Field of Hope.
For each virtual daffodil dedicated, the charity will plant a real daffodil bulb in one of its Fields of Hope around the UK and £2.50 of the cost goes straight to Marie Curie.
More than a million tribute pages are already live on the Lasting Tribute website, with hundreds of messages and images being added to them by users every week.
