Treat the family at Cholderton!

Kids’ play areas, delicious food and refreshments and rare breeds are just some of the things for families to enjoy at Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm this half term

If you’re looking for an excellent value day out for all the family this half-term, Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm has something for everyone.

Located just outside Salisbury, the farm is set on 42 acres of stunning Wiltshire countryside. You can join the team there for daily activities including Guinea Pig Fishing, Duck Feeding, Pig and Lamb Racing, animal petting in Animal Encounters and KuneKune Piglet Fishing.

Over half-term, there’s an interactive QR code trail around the farm to complete, with prizes to be won, comedy magic shows on Tuesday 30, Wednesday 31 May and Thursday 1 June plus balloon animals in the cafe over those lunchtimes too.

As well as the daily events, you can roam around the farm and feed the animals, many of which are British rare breeds. The farm works closely with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) to help support and sustain rare breeds but also to help educate its visitors. It hosts several play areas, a large indoor soft play barn and plenty of space to run around. If you get peckish, there’s an onsite shop, café, bar and kitchen offering hot and cold drinks, breakfast, brunch, lunch and sweet treats.

For the adults, there are 10 acres of vineyards to explore: pop into the Tasting Room and try a sample of the Bluestone Vineyards’ award winning English sparkling wines.

Over half-term, tickets to the farm are only £7 for children and £8 for adults, with under 2s free. The farm is open, 10am to 6pm seven days a week and the shop, café, bar and kitchen from 8am to 6pm every day.

Once the kids are back at school, you can take advantage of the farm’s springtime admission running from Monday 5 June until Wednesday 21 June where child entry is just £3 and adults get in for £5. There are only a limited number of tickets available each day at those prices, so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.Current thumbnail
