Suit up as Santa for a seasonal sprint in London
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity is calling on runners of all abilities in the capital to suit up as Santa and run the London Santa Dash on Sunday 3 December to raise money for seriously ill children.
Returning for the third year, the event will see thousands of people dressed as Santa Claus merrily make their way around a 5k or 10k course, in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital. All funds raised will make a real difference to children and families at the hospital and across the UK.
Participants of all ages and abilities can join the London Santa Dash to jingle their way around Clapham Common and with festive activities to keep all the family entertained, the day promises to be a Christmas bonanza not to be missed.
Laura Savory, Head of Community Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “We’re counting down to this year’s London Santa Dash. Whether you choose to run like Rudolf or walk in our winter wonderland, this festive fun run is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit for a fantastic cause. We are calling for runners of all abilities to jingle all the way and join the Santa Dash today.”
All participants will receive a complimentary Santa suit, a medal, a mulled drink and mince pie at the finish line. With festive fun including a snow machine and a brass band, the event is set to be a perfect pre-Christmas warm up.
Money raised by dashing Santas will go towards the hospital’s dedicated play team who design activities for children to aid their treatment, recovery and understanding of their illness, making their hospital experience as stress-free as possible. Their support and activities help provide fun and smiles to their time in hospital.
