Open Farm Sunday in Dorset

Sunday 11th June - It’s farming’s national open day!

Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006, over 1500 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and collectively, have welcomed 1.8 million people onto their farm for one Sunday each year.

On a farm visit children are given the chance to discover what it means to be a farmer, how food is produced and how the countryside is managed.

Each Open Farm Sunday event is unique and follows the individual story of each farm. Activities vary from farm to farm but may include a countryside walk, a stroll on a nature trail, tractor and trailer rides, demonstrations, pond dipping, activities for children, and more.

Nine farms in Dorset have already signed up to this year’s Open Farm Sunday, but keep an eye on the website www.farmsunday.org for updated information and details about other farms that may be hosting events…
