This year, the hotly contested family attraction category has been awarded, unanimously, to Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park. This attraction continues to raise its already high standards and adapts its practices to accommodate the needs of the discerning visitor. Readers are impressed with the extensive range of rides and facilities, variety of children’s activities and overall appearance of this enormously popular attraction.
The stunning coastal setting helped the Pier House restaurant in Westward Ho! to secure the winning place in the Family Friendly Eating Place category; whilst the muddy adventures found at the Bear Trail ensured that this new Cullompton based attraction scored the most votes in the Outdoor Play category.
As for Indoor Play, Sam’s Funhouse in Exmouth scooped the highest number of nominations; whilst Air Extreme in Barnstaple bounced to the top of the Sports Venue category.
The Totnes based China Blue won the highest proportion of votes in the Craft Activity Provider category; and the popular party packages offered at Bear Feet enabled it to reach the top spot in the Children’s Party venue category.
The natural landscape, the picturesque surroundings and various family events contributed to the National Trust’s Killerton gaining the most votes in the Stately Home and Historical Attraction group.
Primary Times’ readers certainly seem to attend many seasonal activities and it was interesting to read the broad spectrum of answers to the favourite event question. The big names and fantastic live music ensured that BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Powderham Castle was chosen as the readers’ favourite event of the year.
Devon’s Crealy Adventure Park was chosen as the Primary Times Reader Star Award Overall Winner in Devon. This attraction continues to raise its already high standards and adapts its practices to accommodate the needs of the discerning visitor. Further illustrating its ability to diversify and offer variety, Crealy also scored highly across a number of individual categories.
Linda Edwards, Publishing Editor at Primary Times said:
“Each year we are getting more and more readers completing the survey which is fantastic news! In particular we’d like to say a big thank you to all the readers who took the time to fill out the survey. The individual winners of each category all deserve a round of applause as they are clearly offering something that our readers want. We’d also like to congratulate Devon’s Crealy Adventure Park on being the overall winner once again and admire their efforts in making their attraction so popular with local families.”
