Change a child’s future this Foster Care Fortnight

As Foster Care Fortnight (13th to 26th May) approaches, Cumbria County Council is asking people to think about whether they could help to change the future for some of the county’s most vulnerable children by becoming a foster carer?

Perhaps you have worked with children or are raising your own family and looking for a flexible, home-based role?

Our foster carer Lyndsey from Whitehaven, is a busy mum of two, who started fostering for Cumbria County Council after speaking to another mum at her daughter’s school, who fosters, about how rewarding it can be.

She says: “I’ve been fostering for two years now and I’ve never looked back – it’s been amazing! If you’ve got room in your heart and your family, I would urge anyone to foster. The difference you can make by offering a child love, attention and a caring home is so rewarding.”

We believe that foster care changes futures - the futures of fostered children and young people and the futures of the foster families who care for them.
