Irish sun and the factor question
I think we need a change in attitude when it comes to protecting children from the damaging effects of the sun, and this has to come from parents who need to educate children. It is the same sun burning you in Ireland that burns you abroad after all...
Does anyone else think sun cream factors for children should not be below 25+ or is it just me?

Hi there, I have recently returned to live in Ireland with 3 young children after many years in Australia. The standard bottle of sun factor that retails is factor 30, very few if any factors with less protection.
Slip Slop Slap is a common term in Australian schools and always wearing a sunhat in summer is compulsory in school - or your child must sit in the shade for the entire play/lunch break.
I have noticed in Ireland hardly any kids wear sunhats in school - we have had lovely weather this past few weeks and there are so many children with pink scalps and faces. I believe that schools in Ireland should adopt the same policies in regards to the sun & sun damage. Does anyone agree?
