Have you ever wanted to inspire your pupils, find something new to do at school and change the world at the same time?
We Are What We Do is a new movement inspiring people to use their everyday actions to change the world. As part of our latest initiative, Young Speakers, we have trained local 6th form students to come into primary schools and give presentations around the power of small, simple actions to bring about massive social and environmental change.
We ran a competition last year, asking children what they would ask 1 million people to do to change the world. Actions from this inspired our new book 'Teach Your Granny to Text and Other Ways to Change the World', created for children, by children and is out soon! Thanks to funding from the Department for Schools and Education, your school will receive a free copy in September.
The Young Speakers' presentations will help bring actions from this book to life and it's a great way to introduce social, environmental and ethical issues in a fun and interesting way. Armed with lots of enthusiasm and an interactive animated presentation, the Young Speakers will inspire your students to make small changes that make a big difference to the world around them!
Don't miss out on this exciting new opportunity! We are currently recruiting schools and have Young Speakers available in East London and the North West of England.
It's easy to register your interest and sign up now to book for a Young Speaker to come give an inspiring presentation in assemblies, classrooms and other school settings in the Autumn term.
Please email Sam Bond at sam@wearewhatwedo.org.uk or call 020 7785 6385 and we can arrange it all for you.
If you are outside of the pilot areas, don't worry. You can still Spread the Word and engage children in small actions and big positive change by downloading and using all of our resources. Enjoy and let us know how it went on our soapbox. You can also contact us to find out if we’ll be running the Young Speakers in your area next year.
