School children invited to design and win a Free 'Ground Force style'
school playscape makeover by Admiral Play at the Education Show.
Visitors to The Education Show can win a 24-hour 'Ground Force style' playground makeover from educational play specialist Admiral Play. In essence, the idea is for designs to be school children-driven with the most creative and inspiring playscape installed free, ‘ground force style’ over a ‘24-man-hour’ period. To win, schools can submit their ideas and plans to Admiral Play, by picking up an entry form (pdf form available here) at stand - R25 at the Education Show 4-6 March, NEC Birmingham.
Judging will be carried out in April 2010 and the winner will be announced in the press and on websites. All competing schools will be awarded a discount voucher on their next purchase of play equipment from Admiral Play or landscape services from Admiral Play's parent company, tcl.
Managing director at tcl group, Simon Cashmore, whose company recently acquired Admiral Play to enable it to offer schools more play choices, said, "What sets us apart is that our designs are focused on achieving the most effective use of available space, making best use of the individual features of the school and incorporate a wide range of play options, equipment and natural play, to meet our customers creative and budgetary briefs. So whether it's a trim trail, sensory garden or an outdoor classroom, Admiral Play can offer a true 'one stop' shop.
Following a recent project at Northampton 's Hardingstone School, headteacher Robin Bunting, said: "The design team really considered the challenges we had and enabled me to get best value from my budget. As a result, my Reception and Year-1 children have a far better play area than I ever envisaged and the new trim trail setting is a huge success. It was a job well done from the design stage at the beginning through to installation at the end."
