A FREE resource that all teachers and schools will benefit from knowing about - visit www.parentchannel.tv
As teachers, you may be approached by parents with questions or concerns about child/teen issues; this resource is an excellent opportunity to signpost parents to, either as an interim until something more substantial can be undertaken or as a means of providing additional advice and support to what is provided by you in the school.
This free and simple-to-use website is packed with more than 170 short 3-4 minute, helpful videos for parents and carers with children aged between 5-19 years. The videos provide up-to-date expert knowledge and show some actual case studies from real parents and their children.
Divided into three categories of Learning, Behaviour and Wellbeing, each video links to further in-depth information/helplines. All the titles have come from different parent forums around the country and some are quite diverse, such as ‘I don’t like my child’, ‘I hate parents evening’ ‘Making connections at secondary school’ etc.
The videos are FREE to embed onto school websites and can be used to show at PTA meetings or new parent evenings or even included for discussion in PSHE subjects with students.
