Partnership deal delivers more support for out of school clubs

Out of School Alliance and Childcare Managers team up to offer full range of support to breakfast clubs, after school clubs and holiday clubs

The Out of School Alliance, the national organisation for out of school clubs, and Childcare Managers, a leading provider of virtual human resources support services to the childcare industry, have announced a partnership deal. Under the terms of the agreement, members of each organisation will be able to access the services of the other at an exclusive discount rate equivalent to 50% off the usual membership terms.

Catherine Wrench, a director of the Out of School Alliance (OOSA) explained, “We have been looking to improve our coverage of recruitment and management issues for some time. The majority of our members are running very small businesses without any formal HR training or in-house support, so the help and advice provided by Childcare Managers will be invaluable to them. We are delighted that Childcare Managers is now able to offer this service to our members at such a great value price.”

The Government’s deadline for all primary schools being able to offer some form of out of school care from 8.00am to 6.00pm is September 2010, which is just four months away. With Ofsted registration alone taking anything up to 25 weeks to complete, this means that any schools that don’t already have out of school care in place must take action immediately.

The OOSA website www.outofschoolalliance.co.uk contains a wealth of free information to make setting up a new club less daunting, while OOSA members gain access to additional resources including a huge library of sample documentation, lots of activity ideas, discounts on insurance and an ever expanding range of special offers.

The Childcare Managers service complements the OOSA offering by providing specialist information and advice on topics such as recruitment, people management, professional development and legal issues. Membership of both organisations will ensure that managers of out of school clubs have immediate access to all the information they need to successfully set up and run their businesses.

Julie Norris, founder of Childcare Managers, commented, “Our membership already includes many out of school clubs and holiday clubs, so we expect OOSA’s package of practical advice, template documentation and information on the latest legislation for this sector, to be very popular.”
