About Creative Writing Ink

Creative Writing Ink is an online writing community, which also offers creative writing classes and critique and editorial services.

The website contains useful information and resources, including the latest writing competitions, literary festivals and events. It also includes details on writing groups, along with details of publishers, literary agents and writing magazines that are accepting manuscripts at the moment and what you need to submit to them.

Apart from offering writers resources, we also run a series of creative writing courses, including online courses and class-based workshops. The courses include Beginners Creative Writing, Poetry, Memoir Writing, Blogging for Writers and Writing for Children. The online courses run from 4-10 weeks, depending on the course and our class-based weekend workshops take place in Cork. All you need for the online courses, is access to email as the lectures, exercises and critiques are all delivered electronically. Our class-based workshops kick off in September and a full schedule may be viewed on our website.

All our tutors are professional and published writers and full details may be viewed at www.creativewriting.ie No previous writing experience is necessary and our instructors work with students at their own level.

We also offer a critique and editing service, for someone seeking feedback on their short story, poem or novel. Our tutors provide the critique service and our editing or proofreading service is carried out by editors who have worked in the publishing industry for over ten years.

We have just launched a new discussion forum, which is a free service. It’s suitable for anyone who would like some feedback on their writing. Writers can share their work on the forum and they retain full ownership over their writing. Our aim is to provide a forum, where people can share their writing and to help them develop their work.

We have also set up a writing exercise page and we will post a writing exercise once a week. Writers all around the world can take part and include a link to their writing page on our website.

In addition, we run writing competitions, which are free to enter. There are two categories, one for short stories and one for poetry. Every month we choose a winner from each category and their work is published in the Creative Writing Ink quarterly e-journal and their details will be listed on our website and in our newsletter. It’s a great opportunity for people to have their work viewed by readers. We will select an overall winner every three months and they will receive a free critique of their manuscript from one of our tutors, who are all published authors.
