HERE’S your chance to see a ‘real-life’ family of chicks that have just hatched!
The birds, which are Great Tits, have been nesting in a bird box at Sir John
Deane’s College which is fitted with a tiny camera… connected by webcam to the internet.
So, if you log on to www.sjd.ac.uk/birdbox you will be able to see the young family feeding and growing 24-hours a day.
Pauline Lowrie, Head of Biology at Sir John Deane’s College, in Northwich, Cheshire, said: “By putting the images on the net, pupils from primary and high schools or any wildlife enthusiast can follow the birds.
“Anyone logging on will see the how the birds behave in their natural environment, from the growing of their first feathers to being fed by their parents,” she said.
There is also a guest book so any visitors can leave a message.
