Funding for Schools

As many primary schools around the country look at the cost of upgrading and even rebuilding some or all of their buildings, parent’s councils are largely responsible for organising and raising funds for those extra projects that will help teachers implement the curriculum and make school life fun and interesting for children.

€6.25 million of funding has been made available from the Dormant Accounts and RAPID Leverage Fund for 447 projects to improve outdoor play facilities at schools participating in the DEIS programme, schools in or serving RAPID areas and Special Schools in disadvantaged areas.  Approved projects include repairing / improving hard surface play areas; construction of  basketball/soccer/ tennis courts, playing pitches; running tracks soft / safety play surfaces; marking of games ie snakes and ladders, hop-scotch on hard surfaces; play equipment – swings/ slides/ climbing frames / balancing pools; painting of murals.

They supply and install unique playgrounds and safer surfacing solutions (synthetic or natural) throughout the country and are exclusive agents for Kompan.
