The Build-a-Bear Workshop Experience

Making a furry friend gift is a unique and fun experience. You can choose from over 30 teddy bears, bunnies, dogs and other furry friends to make. Then, give it a unique personality with hundreds of teddy bear sized outfits and teddy bear sized accessories, too.

Build-a-Bear Workshop is a great day out for both Boys and Girls, with amassive selection of animals to create and clothes to suit all tastes and a range of prices to suit all.

Beth and Katie were invited along by Anne, the Manager, at the Princess Street, Edinburgh branch to experience why Build-a-Bear Workshop is so popular with children of all ages and find out all about the new characters such as Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Pudsey Bear and his friend Blush.

So off we went, not really sure what to expect, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience.  Anne showed us the massive choice of animals to make and then left us to decide on whichanimal they would like.  Katie,10, chose Snoopy and Beth, 12, chose a pink Helloy Kitty.  Next they could chose a sound or a personal message to go inside, my 2 decided against this, but thechoice is super and the opportunity to add you own message makes is even more personal.  Next you chose the heart for your bear, and there are a selection of ones included in the price, or a more fancy one which you pay a little extra for, and you can also include a beating heart which you press and feel your animals heart beaing.  And then you stuff your animal, the girls got the chance to press the button and watch them fill up, you chose how soft or hard you want your animal to be.

Then comes the really hard bit - chosing the correct outfit for your animal. Now parents be prepared this can take a very long time as there are masses of outfits to chose from. You many, many outfits from themed ones, sport ones, snazzy ones and as its near halloween outfits to scare. Katie chose the flying Snoopy outfit, complete the flying hat and scarf and Beth turned her Kitty into a beautiful lady with glittery jacket and ugg boots.

Once outfits have been selected, tried on and approved off you then need to register your bear on their specialcomputers, this is easy to do even for parents - for children its a breeze.  You select their name, date of birth, add your contact details if you wish, and then you receive their birth certicificate.

To end the experience your animal is placed in a special home box it can live safely in, and then you pay and head on your way to enjoy playing with your new toy.  All the outfits fit most of the animals on offer and children can always save their pocket money or ask for money at birthdays so they can purchase further outfits, accessories and more for their animals to enjoy.

Parents get the enjoyment of seeing their child chose everything themselves.
