Summer Snippets

We've pulled together some great ideas of things to do this Summer - hope you find it useful.

Before we know it, the children will be packing their satchels again, ready for the start of another school year.   And as the good out-of-school clubs tend to get booked up really quickly, now is a good time to reserve your child a place...

Some wellies may come out to assist during the odd downpour, or muddy countryside walk, but many will remain forgotten and unused. These lonely wellies can take heart though, as it is not long to wait until Children’s Hospice South West’s Wear Your Wellies Day!

Whether you're already into boots, bikes or boats, or if you just fancy having a go at some new activities and entertaining the kids, then they've got it all - all under one roof, and for a bargain price! All day entry to the exhibition costs only £5 per person*, and as if that wasn't good enough, the kids go free.

As the curtain rises on Bill Kenwright and Bob Tomson’s production of Evita at the Princess Theatre, I am wondering what to expect. As a lover of musicals, the theatre is somewhere you can often find me, however Evita is one show I had never experienced until now, and it literally blew me away.

Cruising in nostalgic comfort through Cornwall

The RSPCA aims to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals. Its education service plays a leading role by supporting teachers to develop informed, responsible and active citizens and helping schools to be more animal-friendly.

Wado-Ryu Karate-Do at Exmouth Sports Centre

Wado-Ryu is a combination of Japanese Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu and Okinawan Shuri-Te Karate. It is a popular Karate style and was the first to receive recognition in Japan. Evasive body movements combined with dynamic kicks and strikes are at the core of Wado-Ryu which also incorporates self-defence applications. Training improves flexibility, stamina, control, co-ordination and strength as well as self-confidence and self-discipline.
