Brits urge Government to make us greener One in five would fine those who 'don't do green'

The future of the planet is a major concern for people in the UK - but many feel they are not well enough informed to do their bit for the environment.

New research from Worcester, Bosch Group (leading manufacturer of sustainable high efficiency heating and hot water solutions) has found that almost 70% of Brits are calling for more education when it comes to things like saving energy, with the majority (85%) expecting the Government to keep us informed. One in five of us are even in favour of fining people who don't use green methods.

For those who do go green, using energy efficient light bulbs and loft insulation are among the most popular ways. Just over half of people (53%) turn their washing machine to 30 degrees, a quarter use more public transport while 18% have installed a condensing boiler to green up. Meanwhile, 66% think their home is the most important place to be green, with work and day-to-day travel close behind.
