Back to school time looms again and the credit card creaks under the strain of kitting out the kids for another school year. The average parent spends some €250 on uniform and all the accessories – but how much of that stuff survives even a term let alone a year?

But there is a way of tipping the balance back in your favour – and that’s by naming each and every item. Our motto is ‘LABEL IT, OWN IT, KEEP IT!   But thankfully that doesn’t have to mean endless sewing on of name tapes or elastoplasts and a biro.  Labelling has come a long way - it’s now easy and some of it is even cool!

‘Stuck on You’ was created by Australian mum of three Carrie Felton who didn’t want to stick grotty labels on her son’s shiny new kit when he first went to school and decided to design her own and get them printed. They caused such a stir, she started her own company and now, 10 years on, Stuck on You is a world-wide phenomenon and operates in over a dozen countries, including Ireland.

The labels have picked up the fun and funky vibe that Australians are so good at but they are also practical and easy to order and use.  Colours are bright and bold and kids can choose an icon to add to their name to give it a really personal touch.

The main range consists of vinyl stickers that are waterproof, dishwasher and microwave safe and UV resistant and are designed to go on virtually all  solid surfaces. There are also clothing labels which are all washing machine and dryer safe with a choice of clothing “tattoos” which embed into the weave of the fabric when ironed on or iron/sew on labels. These clever examples peel and stick (which gives a quick clothes labelling solution) but can then be ironed or sewn into place permanently without the problem of them slipping during the process. Both ranges cost €13.99 per set of 50.

The vinyl range includes mini/pencil stickers (€15.99 for 100 stickers size 50mm x 6mm), big or small name labels (€13.99 for 50), heel-shaped shoe labels and circular shoe dots (€13.99 per set of 20) and even shaped vinyl stickers.
