ComputerXplorers

ComputerXplorers is an exciting new concept in Computer Technology classes to children age 3 to 13.  Classes aimed at children attending pre schools, primary schools or as part of their extra-curricular activities.  They teach the children a variety of exciting subjects, relevant to their age group, such as robotics, movie-making and clay animation. Children also learn how to work with technical equipment such as digital microscopes and digital cameras. Classes are structured so as to complement class-time themes and learning.

The Music Room is a growing new music school based in Dundrum offering classes in piano and guitar tuition, along with pre-instrumental classes for children aged 3 – 7.  Their aim is that students develop a passion for music, and genuinely look forward to their weekly lessons.

Alliance Française Through lively and stimulating activities, children from 5 years old build up a broad and lasting knowledge of the French language. Classes closely follow children's development and abilities. For younger children, the emphasis on oral comprehension and expression. For older pupils there is focus on oral skills but also a substantial amount of written French too. Specifically designed to capture children’s imagination and relate to their interests. Isabelle Gilsenan School of Dance ( Sister school of Castleknock School of Dance founded in 1968 by Clodagh Foley-Martin. Originally RAD Ballet and Tap were solely taught in the school until 1977 when the ISTD Modern Theatre Dance Examinations were added to the curriculum. Two years ago Contemporary Dance was introduced. Clodagh still teaches today and has seen many of her past pupils enter professional theatre and television, whilst others have become qualified Dance teachers running their own Schools. Isabelle Gilsenan, Clodagh's daughter has recently opened three new schools on the Southside. Isabelle comes from an extensive theatre background and was the first to gain Licentiate status in Ireland in the Modern Branch of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. The emphasis in classes is on enjoyment and a love of Dance and Theatre Arts.  End of year performances are held in The NCH and The O'Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College


The School of Dance has gone from strength-to-srength and due to enquiries from parents for Drama at the school Isabelle is delighted to announce Eunice McMenamin is working with her in teaching Drama at the school from March 2010 onwards. Eunice trained with Clodagh and Isabelle at the Castleknock School of Dance.  She also trained with the Performing Arts School and the Gaiety School of Acting. . Eunice has twelve years teaching experience in Dance and Drama.  The emphasis in the Drama Class at Isabelle Gilsenan School of Dance and Drama is on confidence building and fun.  Students will learn to work individually and in groups with a view to performance.  Enquiries 086 209 8130 or isabellegilsenan@gmail.com.


Duffin School of Swimming

Children can enjoy the lovely heated pool at Cheeverstown Templeogue, where Eithne Duffin has been teaching swimming for the last number of years. Each term is of an eight week duration. Parents and Toddler Swim Friday 6.15pm-7pm. Aqua Fit classes Tuesday morning 9.00-9.45. Tel: 458 9634


Castlepark Swimming
September 2009 saw the launch of Castle Park Swim Academy in Dalkey,.  The swimming pool, sports hall and Astroturf pitch at Castle Park School are a welcome addition to the sports and leisure facilities available in South Co Dublin.


A wide range of swimming lessons and classes are available for children and adults alike, including a five level swimming instruction programme, rookie lifeguard, aqua aerobics, parent and toddler swim.  


Multi-activity camps for children age 3 – 12 are offered at Easter and during the summer holidays.  The camps make full use of the School’s extensive sports facilities and also include arts and crafts, computers and many more activities.
