CBeebies Offers Something New for the Weekend in the New Year

 

CBeebies, the most watched tv channel for the under-6’s, is refreshing its weekend schedule in the New Year to offer a raft of high-quality programming at key times which will reflect the fun, freedom and excitement of the weekend and encourage families to enjoy CBeebies’ output together.

CBeebies much-loved presenting family - Cerrie Burnell, Alex Winters, Andy Day and Sid Sloane - will all be together at weekends to breathe life into delightful lunchtime stories, hit the high notes with special weekend songs and entertain any special friends who – just like at home – might pop in over the weekend.

Weekend mornings and mid-afternoons will have an inspiring feel, featuring some of CBeebies most popular programmes – Gigglebiz, Grandpa in my Pocket, Kerwizz, Mister Maker and I Can Cook - some with a slightly older appeal to attract siblings to join in the fun. 

Lunchtime will form a key part of the new schedule with fresh content including Driver Dan’s Storytrain, Guess With Jess, Wibbly Pig and 64 Zoo Lane providing great characters and gentle adventures to encourage families to view together and provide a calm prelude for toddlers who still take lunchtime naps. 

 And late afternoons will have an active, out-and-about feel to reflect viewers’ own weekends - featuring programmes which explore the world and encourage discovery, play and movement.  Programmes featuring in this slot will include Big Barn Farm, The Green Balloon Club and Show Me, Show Me.

The CBeebies new weekend schedule will spring into action on Saturday 9th January.  The new lunchtime hour will also feature in the CBeebies weekday schedule.
