New Attractions at Tower Bridge

 

As if visiting Tower Bridge isn’t exciting enough, young visitors can squeeze even more fun out of a trip to the most famous bridge in the world this May Half Term with the brand new interactive kiosks placed along the East and West walkways. The kiosks, which are free for all visitors to use, show children views of the River Thames mirroring the actual views that can be seen from each walkway: up the river on the West and downriver on the East.  Each view shows key landmarks, which children can select using a touch screen to find out more about them. The kiosks also feature fascinating facts about London and fun quizzes to test children on their knowledge of the city and its history.

 

One of the famous landmarks to feature on the kiosks is the nearby Tower of London, and activities connected to this attraction include a quiz about the six wives of Henry VIII. This will prove particularly useful for parents or teachers visiting with children aged seven to eleven, as the Tudors feature in the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2. There is also a quiz about the Great Fire of London, which devastated much of the nearby City of London and is commemorated by The Monument, another well-known sight to feature on the kiosks.  The new permanent additions to Tower Bridge Exhibition will provide young visitors with an absorbing activity as they make their way around the Bridge. It will also provide teachers and parents with a structure to help them focus on the most interesting and important landmarks that can be seen from the Bridge, and the history behind them.
