Could You Help Out the RSPCA?
The RSPCA is looking for ‘pet home checkers’ to help the charity find loving new homes for unwanted animals. RSPCA staff and volunteers work tirelessly to find caring new homes for unwanted, neglected and abandoned animals and part of that process is to visit potential new owners in their homes.
When a prospective adopter has met an animal they would like to take home, a voluntary home visitor will go and see them in their own home. They talk through the requirements of the animal and ensure that the accommodation, exercise area and fencing, if appropriate, are adequate. A follow-up visit is then made a couple of months later to make sure that the animal is settling well into his or her new home.
The RSPCA is looking for new home visitors who can offer anything from as little as one hour a week to help find good homes for the animals. Full training will be given and expenses will be met by the RSPCA. Anyone who is interested is asked to contact Norma Barnden on 01732
848735.
