New local support for your PTA
Northern Ireland has a new local adviser for the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA) – Jayne Thompson, from Co Fermanagh.
Established in 1955, the NCPTA is a national charity currently representing just over 13000 PTAs throughout Northern Ireland, England and Wales – visit www.ncpta.org.uk for more information about the NCPTA and the full breadth of our support service.
“If your school has a PTA, or you are interested in starting a home-school group, then I am on hand to give advice and guidance on running an effective association. I also facilitate free fundraising workshops each term throughout the province. These sessions provide PTAs with the opportunity to come together, share ideas, discuss similar issues and leave empowered through the knowledge gained from the NCPTA and shared experiences from fellow PTA colleagues,” Jane said.
Comments from recent Workshops include:-
‘I could never have envisaged that I could get so much out of tonight, my enthusiasm has been raised beyond my expectations’
‘So many new ideas for fundraising’
‘We didn’t realise we were eligible for Gift Aid’
‘We never realised NCPTA could help us with Charity Registration’
Workshops are free to attend, are open to all schools, and are a fantastic way of getting to know other PTAs and to find out more about the NCPTA and the services and support we can offer. (The NCPTA donate £50 to the PTA of a school who are willing to host a workshop, I am currently looking for host schools in Co Down for the next academic year).
As an incentive for new members we have reduced our fees by 50%, so that means NCPTA membership starts from £27.50 depending on the number of pupils at your school.
Member Benefits:

The NCPTA will give your PTA £25 membership discount to your association should we publish your story.)
