TINTIN’S NEW IRISH HOME

Tintin’s celebration in film marks the arrival of a new Tintin centre in Dublin, at International Books in South Frederick Street. International Books is now the home of all tales and all things Tintin, with a wide range of Herge’s books as well as a delightful assortment of Tintin merchandise, from watches to cuddly toys.

Brendan Storey of International Books Ltd in Dublin has secured official distribution rights for all merchandise relating to Tintin. Storey Books Ltd is to launch its specialty TINTIN online shop “www.StoreyBooks.ie”, at the end of this month to coincide with Steven Spielberg’s TINTIN movie, the first of a trilogy of 3D TINTIN adventures. ‘The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn’ is in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from Oct 26.

Before the official launch of the Storey Books website, fans can venture into ‘International Books’ near Trinity College – on Dublin’s South Frederick St. Tintinologists (Tintin fans) can also have a sneak peek at the website ‘InternationalBooks.ie’ to see the wide range of Tintin merchandise and gifts on offer. Goodies include Tintin Niehaus Belgian chocolates, Tintin jigsaws, Tintin stationery, Snowy plushes, and collectors’ items include limited edition Tintin time-pieces. The Tintin merchandise at International Books has something for every budget, and compares with specialist Tintin stores in Paris, Tokyo, London and Brussels.

Tintin is one of Europe’s best-loved comic characters: his adventures have been chronicled around the globe and have seen the boy reporter and his faithful fox terrier Snowy travel to Soviet Russia, the Congo, Tibet, America, and Iceland and even to the moon. Loved by young and old for the last 82 years, Tintin is unlike any other comic hero. He’s been described as an “Indiana Jones for kids” due to his inquisitive mind and his ability to use his intelligence, wit and his resourcefulness to get himself out of a jam.

"The die-hard fans are delighted and say things like 'Great Snakes!' when they see their beloved Tintin and Snowy finally here in Ireland" says Brendan Storey. The Storey has come to Ireland. This time around, it’s not just an adventure; this Tintin Storey is one to be continued... Watch this space! For more information, visit www.StoreyBooks.ie or call 01 679 9376
