What Matters To British Families?
Millions of people across the UK celebrated Mothers Day this year, however new research has revealed that only 1% of Brits actually believe Mother’s Day to be the most important tradition for their family. Family holidays, weekend activities and celebrating birthdays all appear to be more important.
For the parents surveyed, children seem to take precedence when it comes to family focus; 91% of women and 84% of men admit that when they think of family, their children spring to mind.
Almost one in ten Brits only spends time with their family on the weekends and nearly a quarter (22%) only spend time with their family a few times a week. This is despite the fact that 55 per cent of under 24’s believe family are the most important people in their lives, rising to 86 per cent for the over-45’s.
In light of these findings, Vosene are this month launching a new competition aimed at rewarding families and celebrating their values. Each month families are encouraged to visit http://www.vosenefamilies.co.uk and post either a photo, video or story that represents that month’s featured family value to them. The winning entry for each month will win a prize to encourage these family values, such as a professional family photoshoot or a family ticket to a theme park.
