Mixologist David Hurst offers tips for mixing up family friendly cocktails

 

To give parents a helping hand with keeping the kids entertained over the Christmas we’ve got top tips from Mixologist David Hurst for getting creative in the kitchen. Check out these two new fruit ‘n fizz cocktail ideas - Sparkling Sunrise Surprise or Tropical Elderflower Fizz – delightful summer tipples with no alcohol involved so that everyone can enjoy.

FRUITY FIZZY ALCOHOL-FREE COCKTAIL

RECIPES FOR THE FAMILY…

Sparkling Sunrise Surprise      Serves 2

2 oranges

1 pink grapefruit

1 x 330ml can of Whole Earth Sparkling Organic Apple and Raspberry drink

2 tsp grenadine

Fresh raspberries to garnish (optional)

1. Squeeze the juice from the oranges and pink grapefruit, gently mix together and then divide between two hi-ball glasses.

2. Add plenty of ice to the glasses, then top up with the Sparkling Apple and Raspberry drink.

3. Gently pour the grenadine into each glass, so that the syrup falls over the ice cubes and leaves a trail down the glass. Garnish with a few fresh raspberries.

Tropical Elderflower Fizz      

Serves 2            

1 mango

1 kiwi fruit

1 lime

1 x 330ml can of Whole Earth Sparkling Organic Elderflower drink

1. Peel the mango and kiwi fruit. Slice the flesh of the mango away from the stone, then chop into chunks and place in a blender. Chop the kiwi fruit into quarters and add to the blender. Whiz until smooth.

2. Squeeze the juice from the lime and add to the puréed fruits and give another quick blast to incorporate the juice into the fruit.

3. Divide the purée between two tumblers, add a few cubes of ice, top up with the Sparkling Organic Elderflower drink and stir to mix well.
