Learning Ireland is leading education website; JNIR ratings illustrate high interest in courses and education in Ireland.

A new survey of internet usage in Ireland has given a high rating to the Learning Ireland network – a national courses database featuring evening classes, postgraduate, third-level and corporate training courses available around the country. According to the Joint National Internet Research survey, Learning Ireland’s Nightcourses.com and Daycourses.com websites are now regularly used by 9% of Irish internet users and rank as the twelfth most popular website in the country.

The survey puts the Learning Ireland network ahead of Recruitireland.com, Breakingnews.ie, Irishexaminer.com and Hotpress.com, and puts it on a par with Independent.ie and Pigsback.com.

“This is a reflection of the massive interest in Ireland in learning of all types”, said Learning Ireland’s Kevin Branigan. “Despite the perception of an economic slowdown, more people than ever are interested in bettering themselves and enhancing their skills by taking courses, training and education”, he said. Referring to the strong investment made by his company in its brand, content and team over the past eighteen months, he pointed out that the Learning Ireland network is now the most relevant source for the Irish public to search for classes and courses nationwide, with 154,000 of Irish web users using the websites regularly.

Meanwhile, Learning Ireland has just embarked on a major redesign of all of its websites, aimed at increasing the range of options available for advertisers; the new look will launch in June”.

The JNIR research uses a similar audience measurement research approach to the JNLR and JNRS used for newspapers and ; it was conducted by Behaviour & Attitudes and Amas.
The research is the first of its kind and aims to profile the people visiting different websites and provide a currency for measurement of internet usage in Ireland for advertisers.
