Enrich your teaching and your pupils’ learning with the high quality online resources now available through JISC Collections for Schools.

Funded by Becta, JISC Collections for Schools is a not-for-profit initiative which is enabling state-funded and independent schools in the UK to save up to 75% on trusted online subscription resources.

Ideal for use with pupils at Key Stages 1 and 2, the resources:

  • offer a wide variety of educational content that supports subject-focused and cross-curricular teaching and learning – ideal for covering the six new thematic ‘Areas of Learning’
  • provide material for whole class teaching using an interactive whiteboard or data projector, that will help you explain ideas, prompt discussion and develop pupils’ speaking and listening skills
  • provide opportunities for independent learning and group work through which pupils can develop ICT and information finding skills
  • are copyright-cleared for educational use which means that you and your pupils can find appropriate resources that can be safely downloaded into teaching materials and projects.

The resources on offer through JISC Collections for Schools are from leading suppliers with a strong track record in providing high quality educational materials. The resources include…

eChalk

An innovative collection of interactive activities, games, animations, simulations and quizzes created with a strong focus on learning through fun. Already used by thousands of teachers, eChalk’s imaginative resources have been proved to engage and motivate young learners, either in a whole class setting, or when working independently.

Heinemann Video Gallery (Primary)

This invaluable resource offers hundreds of high quality, curriculum-linked video clips from the BBC Motion Gallery. Teachers have worked closely with researchers from the BBC to choose clips that best support the primarycurriculum, and to write usage notes to help planning and teaching. Ideal for whole class sessions, teachers say the video clips are a great way to start a topic and prompt lots of discussion.
