The Great British BBQ; Who Wears The Crown?
BBQ season is almost upon us and it looks like we may even see some sunshine this summer which means only one thing….it’s time to get grilling!
In the past, it has been men who’ve stereotypically worn the BBQ crown with the food often seen to be less than satisfying; synonymous with under-done burgers and slightly burnt sausages but who will rule the BBQ for 2017?
Unbelievably, new research commissioned by Red Tractor into British attitudes towards BBQing this summer has revealed that 62% of GB adults said men should still rule the grill!
15% said the man was a better BBQer because they are prepared to cook in any weather whereas just 4% of GB adults think that women are better BBQers because they are more likely to make sure the food is safe to eat.
In response to the findings top female BBQ chef and food writer Genevieve Taylor has been teaching Countryfile presenter and British Farmer, Adam Henson how to BBQ brilliant British food in time for the sun. Adam by his own admission is pretty mediocre in the skills dept when it comes to cooking on the BBQ and has enlisted BBQ Queen Genevieve to create a series of entertaining recipe videos which can be found online, offering delicious recipe ideas and top tips for listeners to try on their own grills in time for the bank holiday weekend and the start of the BBQ season.
