Fun and Games for Kids at Tower Bridge
There are lots of things for kids to do on a trip to the Most Famous Bridge in the World this summer as the Tower Bridge Exhibition introduces some new activities and brings back some old favourites. With family tickets starting at just £12.50 it won’t break the bank either. From Saturday 23 July to Monday 29 August tickets to Tower Bridge will include the added attraction of traditional Victorian games. Children will once again be able to enjoy giant dominoes, hopscotch, noughts & crosses, quoits and roll-a-ball, with prizes available for some games. A brand new activity for children this summer is the interactive kiosks in the Walkways. The kiosks, which are free for all visitors to use, show children views of the River Thames mirroring the actual views that can be seen from each walkway: up the river on the West and downriver on the East. Each view shows key landmarks, which children can select using a touch screen to find out more about them. The kiosks also feature fascinating facts about London and fun quizzes to test children on their knowledge of the city and its history.
One of the famous landmarks to feature in the kiosks is the nearby Tower of London, with activities connected to this attraction including a quiz about the six wives of Henry VIII. Tower Bridge Exhibition is open every day from 10am to 5.30pm (last admission) until September (when Winter hours kick in). Admission prices for Tower Bridge are adults £8, children aged 5-15 £3.40, under 5s free and concessions £5.60. Combined tickets for Tower Bridge Exhibition and The Monument are adults £9, children £4 and concessions £6.20. More information can be found at www.towerbridge.org.uk |
