Can Man beat the beasts?
Jamie Crawford pits his wits against the animal kingdom in new series In Too Deep
We humans might think we’re the most advanced species on Earth, but judging from the evidence on show in Animal Planet’s spectacular new wildlife adventure series In Too Deep, maybe it’s time we thought again.
We’ve got the technology to survive in extreme situations and even put a man on the moon, but how do our natural talents measure up to the amazing skills of the inhabitants of the animal kingdom? That’s the beastly question that adrenaline junkie presenter Jamie Crawford goes all out to answer in In Too Deep.
Naturalist Jamie Crawford looks at the wonders of evolution and tries to emulate them using stunts and ingenious devices. In an effort to match the cartwheeling spider’s ability to cartwheel across the desert sand dunes at an astonishing 44 revolutions per second Jamie attempted his own downhill run strapped into a device made out of inflatable car inner tubes – showing us visually how impressive the spider’s abilities are.
That’s just one course from the feast of beastly feats to be served up throughout the duration of the series. In Too Deep is on Animal Planet every Sunday at 8pm.
