Sittingbourne’s Steam Railway

The trains are running again! Following all the uncertainty about the line and then some vandalism, the railway is up and steaming away again.

Weekend trains will run on Sunday afternoons at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

The return journey takes approximately one hour. Return fares are £4 per adult and £2 for children. Milton Regis (Asda) Halt can be found at the far side of the store car park.

The Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway is the preserved southern half of the former Bowater's Railway built to move the raw materials for paper making and also the finished products around the mill at Sittingbourne. It’s a fascinating piece of Kent’s industrial and transport history and makes a great family afternoon out whether your children are steam engine obsessed or not.
