It’s 2012! And what a year this promises to be! Packed with major sporting events such as London 2012 and Euro 2012 plus the Queen’s Diamond Jubileecelebrations in June, there is plenty of reason for the children to party! On the subject of children’s parties remember to look out for the February Half Termissue of Primary Times as there will be a special pull out and keep Party Guidefilled with birthday party ideas, party venues, children’s party entertainers, party invitation ideas, party bags and party games!

Aside from the many good reasons to party, many family attractions, towns and villages are sure to embrace the Olympic spirit and host a number of sporting events and activities for children - plus there will be plenty of kids sports andcool games planned too.  To assist you with the start this healthy year we’ve included a few New Year Resolution ideas for you, such as – to keep fit with the kids in the New Yearto eat more healthily or to learn something new. We’ve also added tips on how to keep New Year’s Resolutions too – just take a look!

FEBRUARY HALF-TERM activities

Supervised mixed activity days with fully qualified instructors at Upton Warren Outdoor Education Centre, Bromsgrove, from 9.30am – 4.30pm. Activities are weather dependent, but may include high ropes and big swing, bushcraft and survival skills, archery, canoeing, kayaking and sailing. £25 per child, per day, or 5 days for the price of 4 (£100 for all 5 days). Children must be at least 8 years old and sessions are dependent on numbers so booking is required. Breakfast can also be provided for early birds from 8.30 for an extra £2.00.
