The Klaus Flugge Prize is an exciting new award for the most promising and exciting newcomer to children’s picture book illustration. The shortlist, chosen by an expert panel of judges including Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell and illustrator Tony Ross, features six superb picture books: Too Many Toys by Heidi Deedman (Walker Books); Hector and the Hummingbird by Nicholas John Frith (Alison Green Books); The Girl with the Parrot on her Head by Daisy Hirst (Walker Books); Toby and the Ice Giants by Joe Lillington (Flying Eye Books); Lili by Wen Dee Tan (Fat Fox) and Counting Lions by Stephen Walton, written by Katie Cotton (Frances Lincoln Children’s Books). They feature feisty little girls; creatures of the ice age; a friendship – between bear and hummingbird – under pressure; and a collection of stunning portraits of wild animals. These talented illustrators will be winning awards for years to come!

We’ve got a bundle of the shortlisted books to give away. For your chance to win simple answer this question:
